Meet the Team
Our Sacred Heart Pre-School team provide care, support, and education to promote children's development. They create a safe and nurturing environment, plan and implement age-appropriate activities, engage with parents and families, observe and assess children's progress, and promote inclusion and diversity in their practice.
All of our staff have up to date Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid certificates and regularly complete relevant CPD to strengthen their practice.
Chelsea Porter (Auntie Chelsea)
Co-Manager / Language Lead / DSL
Auntie Chelsea co-manages pre-school alongside Auntie Hannah. She has been a part of our pre-school family for ten years! Auntie Chelsea's key group is called 'Super Strawberries' 🍓
She has a full level 3 Early Years Educator qualification and a Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies.
Chelsea is also our settings Language Lead and one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
Hannah Curtis (Auntie Hannah)
Co-Manager / DSL
Auntie Hannah co-manages pre-school alongside Auntie Chelsea. She has been a part of our pre-school family for eleven years! Auntie Hannah's key group is called 'Bright Bananas' 🍌
She has a full Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Hannah is also one of our settings Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
Clare Hansford (Auntie Clare)
SENCO/ DSL
Auntie Clare is our Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO) and has been a part of our pre-school family for over twenty years! Auntie Clare's key group is called 'Brilliant Blueberries' 🫐
She has a full NVQ Level 4 qualification in Early Years.
Clare is also one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
Carly Heald (Auntie Carly)
Early Years Practitioner
Auntie Carly is an Early Years Practitioner. She has been a part of our pre-school family for two years! Auntie Carly's key group is called 'Terrific Tangerines' 🍊
She has a full Level 3 qualification in Early Years.
Keira Smith (Auntie Keira)
Early Years Practitioner / FSO
Auntie Keira is an Early Years Practitioner. She has been a part of the pre-school family for almost two years! Auntie Keira's key group is called 'Growing Grapes' 🍇
Keira has a full Level 3 qualification in Early Years.
Keira is also our Fire Safety Officer.
Melissa Ball (Auntie Mel)
Deputy Manager / HSO / DSL / Student Mentor
Auntie Mel is our Deputy Manager and one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads. She has been part of the pre-school family for 9 years! Auntie Mel's key group is called 'Clever Carrots' 🥕
Mel has a full Level 3 qualification in Early Years and a Level 6 BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies.
Mel is also our Health and Safety Officer, Sustainability Lead and Student Mentor.
Matthew Smith (Uncle Matt)
Early Years Assistant
Uncle Matt has recently joined our team as a temporary Early Years Assistant.
Matt is a qualified teaching assistant, has over ten years experience working within primary schools, and is very excited to get stuck into the world of Early Years!

Student
We currently have a student with us for two days a week, who is studying for her T-Level in Early Years ❤️
